Take the Cue from the Babi

It's one more day to the new year and 4 more till the big A.

The thought of that is just so very depressing, especially since the past 3 days have been pure excitement and entertainment, and having to mug-once again- is just... urgh.

Wednesday got pretty rainy (this time not my fault hor), and hence ECP got really muddy on a thursday morning. Met Jiehao, Yen, Jukie, XianYing, Debbo, Nicklim, Bryan for soccer! And despite EVERYONE being late, the mud failed to dry and our little soccer game turned into a mud bath fit for pigs kings. Jukie, Yen, JieHao and I won 2-0!

So after our mud-filled prelude to the sec4 OC outing, we met the rest, Darius, Desmond, Anna, Shuhan, Cheryl, Candice, Lynette at City Hall for the game where it's socially not accepted for guys to use pink balls- Bowling! Everyone was playing crap and hitting scores close to PSI of healthy Singapore, all except for Desmond 'Energyball' Chng, who in hypercharged mode pwned the rest of us. This of course, is contrary to some terribly partial and sexist report . Hee.

Dinner was at Marina South and it turned out to be teh first of 3 consecutive BBQ dinners. Health-nuts Holler in Horror!

Much like successful sequels, e.g. LOTR and X-Men, Friday was reunion #2, This time with the Peeps of OBS Mobile C! Sometimes, you tend to forget how nice some people are, especially after a year. Taiwanese Variety game show games were something new, the BBQ, same old same old.

GEI WO TEMPO READY GO!

Despite being a financially burdenful week, I must say this has been the perfect way to end the hols. Having been reminded how great 2006 was in the past 3 days, 2007 is gonna own and rock.

Lets make sure of that, shall we?

Trust me people, my departure and the earthquakes in taiwan were no coincidence.

But of course, you could believe those old science-y goons and their absurd theory that plates are rubbing each other, hence the vibrating island, but all common sense will point you to the fact that taiwan is suffering, very badly from my leaving, and the and withdrawal symptoms include shivering.

Don't believe me? Then explain the flooding in Malaysia too! ah yes, suspicious aye?

taiwan i bade farewell

I'm Back! Taiwan was breezily cool and refreshingly friendly. Yes yes, trust me when i say this, taiwanese are smiley people. The supposed food paradise that Taiwan was promised to be is sadly a mere facade created by TV shows which tend to overrate- alot.

Lots of photos, but why bore you with a thousand words? I like things simple.

The flight was a blast. Had the luxury of watching "Invincible", yet another one of those insipiring sports movies.wholely entertaining nonetheless.

But neeways, details are boring and I'm hardly enthralled by the idea of making you bored, which ironically is what I'm doing now, leaving me to feel how imcomplete and insecure it is when you make people bored unknowingly and there is no end to this sad, boring dillema. Hello it's 2am so don't give me that crap that i just bullshitted this whole paragraph JUST to sound interesting (HURH)...

cos i really did.

Incoherency makes a lousy 2am buddy. Oddly enough, coherency was required to realise that. Hmm...

Oh gosh im really being freaky right now so lets just recap and look ahead. Taiwan trip, didn't buy much. Tomorrow, Christmas Dinner at Bryan's with i dunno who.

So it seems there's nothing better to watch at 5.30pm in the gym than the Tyra Banks Show. Today Tyra Banks set out to help people who are too nice. Yes, you read that right. And my guess is that you are telling yourself the same freaking thing i told myself: "Dang, Talk show scriptwriters are a load of bull!"

So anyway, just as the camera pans to Tyra and her 3 guests on the couch, one quite chio the other 2 not so, a cloud of skeptism loomed over me. Yes, granted people who are too nice can cause self-inflicted problems i.e. being shorchanged, forced to do things they would rather not, but hey, isn't it better to leave the world with a few nice people, rather then try to change them. I mean, isn't that what we are all told to do? BE NICE?!?

And then a bald-headed fat ass plonked himself next to the chio one and declared himself the husband.

Bathed, Shit and Relinked

Hello and I'm back from my 3rd time to Mawai. Unlike the past 2 times where it was the LTC, this trip was pretty much a leisure trip of sorts and excitingly enough I stepped on a rusty nail and had to be sent for a tetanus shot!

Ain't that fun? xD

In a way I have much to thank for the experience (Yes yes optimism can be a scary thing sometimes). Thanks to my no-slipper-trauma, I've "completed" the Mawai experience.

The trip to the polyclinic was a pretty interesting one. Uncle Sutari (Mr. laughalot) and an Orang Asli whose name i forgot (SORRY) took me down to Mawai Baru and it was a 20min ride in a grey coloured proton. Reached the 24-hour polyclinic but was ironically turned away and were told to come back at 8. -.-

So amidst the fear of getting a lock jaw any moment, we found ourselves at a malay coffeeshop eating kampong nasi goreng. Finally, i took the jab and reached back at mawai by 9 in time for the firefly cruise.

The second day was... something new. Due to my new found pai-ka ness, i was disallowed from climbing gunung arung. Stayed back in camp with Lisa-jie and her niece Genie (yes, cute name and cuter girl), instructor Jason and baby (Cik Anna's daughter). Read "Singapore-the air conditioned nation", played Uno and did some tranquil-catching.

There wasn't really much of an issue with boredom, cos baby and genie were just stirring so much happenings, it was entertaining enough watching them. Like how they started rocking Instructor Jason, who was sleeping in a hammock, until the hammock's rope broke and the 2 of them ran away from the scene of crime. The once-best friends started blaming each other and there you have it, Reality TV @ kem eco mawai.

Third day was pretty much free and easy for everyone. Naresh, who kena barnacle-cuts, stayed with me on the instructor shack as we watched quite enviously as the peeps played on the water obstacle. Rebecca, the 11-year old with her own domain, and her mom were really a funky pair. Her mom was constantly shouting:" falling down is an achievement!" at her, much to the amusement of the pai-ka crew.

Bus left Mawai uber late. Not really sure why, but in the spirit of optimism, at least we got to experience leaving Mawai at night!

Loads of thankews to the instructors, Steven, jacq, Jason, Ze ping, Lisa-jie, Uncle Sunny, Uncle Sut, Uncle Kwok Peng, Cik Anna (her food still ever delicious), The Orang Aslis, Funkeh Peeps of the nature society, and of cos the 7 of you, Desmond, Faizullah, George ,John, Naresh, Shiraj and Zai. Had alot of fun with all those codenames (LOTR meet Wendy nagasaki), crazy lame jokes and the scandalous love triangle between john, george and zai.

O Bla Di O Bla Da Life Goes On. Bye bye Mawai! I'm sure our paths will cross again! :)

Nightmare on Zen street

Putting your Zen Vision: M on random can be risky business. Hillary Duff's Girl can rock just played (don't ask me how it got there) and I'm still reeling from her screeching and the konky beats she calls music.

But alas, that's not where the danger really lies. 5 tracks down and I've played Bloc party's The pioneer, Goo Goo Doll's Stay With You, Killer's For Reasons Unknown, Flaming Lips' New Radical and Damien Rice's The Rat Within The Grain. And at once, that needy brat floating somewhere in my subconsience starts assailing the part of the brain controlling logic and demands me and wallet satisfy his crazed thirst for these CDs.

Die la die la.

liddat call love meh?

Just came back from Drama centre at National Library , went to watch "Jack and the bean-sprout" with Liwei and John. Super high on entertainment level, with much credit due to the cool lighting, awesome songs, slick dances and of course, the bubbly and enthu under-10 audience.

Sebastian Tan played "Jack Neo"(hur, celeb pun), and despite the over-milking of all the name-pun (Jack's place, JACK NEO YOU SO STUPID) I didn't get bored of it at all and i was constantly anticipating the next pun. Okay fine, maybe that was just lame-me enjoying what i dish out. xD

Ivan Heng was in drag playing the widowed mom of jack and DANG, she's got to be the hottest tiger beer lady I've seen. Those jugs of hers, frosted no less, were just gorgeous and so life-like. Wah cannot tahan! hee.

Some of the characters were horribly funkeh too, from the malay "chinese gangster", to that hip hop karang guni man, LOL and Bamboo the manga-inspired housekeeper of the giant's house. Everytime bamboo does that act-cute crying scene so typical of mangas i crack up so badly. Madness I tell you!

Oh oh oh and not forgetting, the lovely song which i started singing along to, "liddat call love?" Once sebastian started singing that song it was quite obvious I had to buy the CD, which I did! $10 plus autographs. By the way, if you're ever going to the show, don't miss the autograph session cos the actress playing the lian is quite chio in person ;) Yes, and also because its quite a rare chance and you would not want to miss such an opportunity (hurhur...)

Going Mawai once again this Friday(yay!). Just when we thought we wouldn't be going back there again huh! Going with Zai, Faizullah, Naresh, John and George, and that means I'm going back down to malaysia for the second time! haha, I'm slowly turning into malaysia's tourism board poster child la please.

So from the 8th to 10th, Its the malaysian outdoors for me. AND SISTIC I FORGIVE YOU!

It Befuddles Me,

How crappy sistic services can get. But since Boons/Banes (whichever is the bad one) always come round with Boons/Banes (whichever is the good one), lets hope something awesome and spirit-lifting happens this week. Maybe something like the enlightening of which one's the good one, boon or bane.

In either case, I'll be looking into the whole ticketing industry, so any wealthy investor or well-wishers to the prospect of quality ticketing services, feel awesomely free to drop by an email and we can give SISTIC a darn run for their money. Oh, and it'll be much better if you're an Arsenal fan, cos then we can swoon and go crazy about the gorgeous 3-0 WIN OVER TOTTEN-JIAK-NEH-NEH-HAM!!!!!

Well so much for renewing optimism. I'm gonna try SISTIC one more time and it prolly is not gonna work again, but ohwells, you can cheer me up with KL trip photos! someone please send! Anyone?

Justin Timberlake must be a coach driver, cos im back from the land of a thousand frowning taxi drivers.

Apart from the minimal cutural exchanges we had, the Kuala Lumpur trip was mainly about one thing- getting in tuned with the lurvliness of spending money. If Singaporeans are gonna become any animal, its gotta be birds, cos we go cheap cheap cheap the whole day, and its not as if KL doesn't give us reason to do so. But of course, my plunder looks meagre compared to the metro-giants of Bryan, Desmond and John. Still, I got some great steals and here's the loot:

And trust me, If you are gonna stay in KL for more then 4 days with the only objective being shopping, PLEASE make sure you get good shoes.
